Assisting business objectives with good web design

Designing a website is about much more than beautiful graphics If you want people to feel confident about your website and trust it, then the look should be professional.

If your site is well-designed, it will encourage your visitors to do the things you would like them to (buy something from you, subscribe for your newsletters, or visit your store).

Do you give a complete picture of how your company operates? In just a few short seconds, you have to convince web users to visit your site.

What is your call to action? Sometimes you need to explicitly tell people to contact your company or else they will not bother.

What components should your site have?

This list can be compared to your own site to check if it is helping your company reach its goals.

1) Easy-to-understand navigation. Visitors should have no trouble navigating your site. You need them to be able to easily locate the information they want.

3) Company Branding. A prominent logo, and colours that distinguish your business from others should appear on the website. If you want to stand out from the crowd, your clients and prospects should recognize who you are.

3) Compelling content. Websites must tell visitors why to choose you. Increase conversions with a focus on your customers’ needs, not what you think is interesting. Discuss the difficulties your prospects have and present your company as their solution.

4. Include social networking functionality. Some companies may not need or even use social networking. However, if you are a Twitter user or Facebook fan (for example), ensure that your website is integrated with these services so users can easily share information such as your special offers and contact details. You can integrate social media buttons into your site with little effort.

5) I’d recommend having a clear form that users can use to provide their information and ask questions. It will allow you to keep in touch with them and build a strong relationship. Do not forget to include your mobile number. Many people do not want to provide their phone numbers up front.
